June 2011 Goddess of the month: Annie Gerstenberger
Annie Gerstenberger
This month’s goddess truly is the most loving, compassionate and remarkable woman. I have known her for a little over 3 years now and I am so honored to feature her on Goddess Vortex this month. She is an exemplary goddess who does it all with love.
Annie was born 42 years ago on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. She has been living in the island of Oahu, Hawaii for about 18 years now. The move was uneasy at first due to the challenges of dealing with cultural differences and language barriers. Since her first few days in Oahu people remember her as the “person with constant smile on her face” which is what Annie is indeed. She thinks that people don’t need to know her daily struggles but they can always remember her smile and kind words.
Annie constantly thrives to feed her soul. She is greatly inspired by Mother Teresa and is highly involved in her community. She says that her community is part of who she becomes and who she is. It is her responsibility. For the past 3 years Annie cooks for 500 homeless people once a month for Once A Month Church Ministry. The last 5 years in a row she also has been traveling to world’s most unreachable place like Malawi in Africa to do her humanitarian work. She assists in providing clean water to the rural villages there.
Her perception of life is,” Life is too short. If I don’t do it now when shall I do it? I want to do something for God, my family, my neighbors, the community and the world. It is my responsibility to make that happen. When you feel that your heart is striving for something, just do it! We all can contribute something little to our community. It is all within your heart you just have to let it out. Most importantly, when you do it always do it with love and an open heart.”
Annie you are absolutely a beautiful and powerfully inspirational goddess inside out. Many blessings to you for your tremendous love to humanity. May you always be filled with bubbles of love, faith, acceptance and grace in every aspect of your life.

Annie, what Suzy writes in this article is definitely a dead-on bullseye! You are one very inspiring soul and the world is definitely lucky to have you as one of her citizen. Your ministry works and your dedication are absolutely a constant motivation. Keep up the good work!!
